Built-In cabinetry around a fireplace

This posting features a family room set of built-ins we just completed for a homeowner in Springfield, VA.

They feature arched valances, square raised panel doors and adjustable shelving. The interiors of the base cabinetry have been clear coated with two coats of semi-gloss polyurethane.

We also constructed the mantel shelf to open up for installation of speaker wiring, etc.

AFTER PICTURE

Solid 3/4" cabinet grade birch plywood casework with poplar wood facings.

BEFORE PICTURE

We covered the upper portion of brick with solid 3/4" birch plywood, poplar wood stiles and arched the valance, giving a nice recessed panel look above the mantel
