Here we feature a few pictures of a small built-in cabinetry project we just completed. These built-in cabinets feature base cabinet units with closed storage, upper bookcase units with arched valances and adjustable shelving. We also fabricated a nice boxed mantel between the two built-in cabinets and covered the upper brick portion of the fireplace with a solid birch vernier plywood and mouldings giving it a nice recessed panel look.
We leave the mantel shelf ledge loose to accommodate the installation of media cabling. You can see the grommets in one of the pictures that allow for the side speaker wires to pass through.
The casework for these built-ins is a 3/4" thick birch vernier plywood with solid poplar wood facings. The square inset raised panel doors have poplar wood frames and mdf panels. They also utilize concealed adjustable euro style hinges.

BEFORE PICTURE
I was a little late in taking the before picture of the built-ins on this one. Here you can see we have already started the installation of the left side cabinet.
AFTER PICTURES
Notice that the brick above the boxed mantel shelf has been covered with a nice recessed panel of birch vernier plywood and beaded accent mouldings. We also padded out this panel to allow for the TV cabling
I am hoping to get some pictures of this project all painted and completed.
